My first real taste of photography came when I was studying Art and Design at college and enrolled in an additional course in Photography.

The course was before the rise of digital photography and I very much enjoyed the processes involved in creating an image, from the technical points of composing and taking a shot, the developing of the negatives, to the actual creation of a final image in the dark room.

Now much like then, my inspiration and drive comes from the ‘buzz’ of creating an image that has the power to evoke strong emotions or feelings.

There’s nothing quite like the feeling of isolation and wonderment from being in a beautiful and remote location, when most sensible people are still tucked up asleep.

All of my work is now shot digitally on a variety of full frame and crop sensor camera bodies.
